Alice In Chains - Man in the Box

Alice In Chains was formed in 1987 in Seattle as Alice N Chainz, but soon adopted its current name. The band is considered a grunge band but the musicians themselves thought they were playing heavy metal.
Initially, the band performed in Seattle clubs, and after three years of playing, he managed to sign a contract with Columbia Records – then Alice In Chains debuted the album “Facelift”.
In 1992, the group released the multi-platinum album “Dirt”, which brought her international fame. A year later, two hits of the band – “What The Hell Have I” and “A Little Bitter” hit the soundtrack of the movie “Last Action Hero”. In 1993, because of drug-related problems, Mike Starr left the group and was replaced by Mike Inez, who had previously performed in Ozzy Osbourne’s band.

In 1994 the band recorded the EP “Jar Of Flies” and a year later the album “Alice in Chains”, which is the group’s last premiere studio release so far.

In 1996 the band released CD and DVD from the concert “MTV Unplugged”. Unfortunately, soon due to drug problems of singer Layne Staley, the band suspended their activities. The first attempts to reactivate took place in 1999, when the band recorded two new songs. However, Staley plunged into addiction and died in April 2002 as a result of an overdose of a mixture of morphine, codeine and cocaine.

The band reactivated in February 2005 when other members of Alice In Chains played a charity concert in Seattle. Currently, the group consists of three musicians from the previous composition: guitarist and vocalist Jerry Cantrell, bassist Mike Inez and drummer Sean Kinney and new vocalist William DuVall.
