Calexico

The Calexico music group was founded in 1996. The name comes from the city in the state of California. This name was adopted by the group formed by Joey Burns and John Convertino after signing a contract with Quarterstick Records. These musicians have been working together since 1990. First in the Giant Sand group, and then in the band The Friends of Dean Martin.

The band’s first album was Spoke, released in 1997. The next album, The Black Light, was released in 1998. In 1999, the limited album Road Map was released, sold exclusively during the group’s concerts.
