Extreme – Get The Funk Out
The Boston Extreme Quartet was founded in 1985. Its founder and the driving force was guitarist Nuno Bettencourt. Extreme music is a strange mix of heavy metal, hard rock, progressive rock and pop.
They debuted with the album “Extreme” in 1989. Since the release of the second album “Pornograffitti” (1990), Bettencourt has gained recognition as an instrumentalist in the world of heavy metal. However, the group’s biggest hit was the rock, acoustic ballad “More Than Words”.
The album “Extreme III: Three Sides to Every Story” brought more ambitious music, but did not achieve commercial success. Like another one, “Waiting For The Punchline” (1995). A year later the band announced their termination and Nuno Bettencourt began his solo career.
