Helloween – I Want Out

One of the most famous European bands performing heavy metal, one of the pioneers of power metal and speed metal. The group was founded in 1984 in Hamburg, although its origins date back to 1978, when two musicians – Kai Hansen and Piet Sielck founded the band Gentry.

In 1981, the name was changed to Second Hell, and a year later to Iron Fist. The original composition of Hellowween was created in 1984: Kai Hansen (vocal / guitar), Michael Weikath (guitar), Markus Grosskopf (bass) and Ingo Schwichtenberg (drums). The idea of the latter was to replace the letter “o” in the team’s logotype with his later trademark – a pumpkin. In the same year the group signed a contract with Noise Records, the first effect of which was the recording of two songs (Oernst To Life and Metal Invaders) for the compilation “Death Metal”, which also included the groups Hellhammer, Running Wild and Dark Avenger.

In 1985, the band registered their debut EP “Helloween” (containing 5 songs, hence also referred to as mini LP). Later that year, the first LP “Walls Of Jericho” and the album “Judas EP” appeared on the market, which turned out to be the beginning of the path to the world career of Helloween. The group received excellent reviews and attracted media attention in many countries. Soon Michael Kiske joined the band, who took over the responsibilities of Hansen.

1987 brought the first part of the famous album “Keeper Of The Seven Keys”, promoted by the single “Future World”. This publishing house also brought huge success to the group. A year later, the second part of the album appeared on the market – “Keeper Of The Seven Keys Part 2” and singles: “Dr. Stein “and” I Want Out “. The promotion of the album included the Pumpkin Fly Free Tour, during which a concert in Scotland was recorded, released in three versions: “Live in the UK”, “Keepers Live” (Japan), and “I Want Out Live” (USA).
