Metallica

American metal band founded in 1981 in Los Angeles. Metallica is one of the most important and influential groups in the history of heavy playing. Her musicians have achieved both artistic success – many of her albums are now considered classics of heavy metal and rock – and commercial success, selling over 100 million copies of their albums worldwide.
The first line-up of the group was formed by Lars Ulrich, James Hetfield, Dave Mustaine and Ron McGovney. The last two, however, were soon replaced by Kirk Hammett and Cliff Burton, respectively, and in this line-up in 1983 Metallica released their debut album “Kill ill Em All”. The album is a classic trash and speed metal achievement. She laid the foundations for Metallica’s later success with compositions such as “Seek nad Destroy” or “The Four Horsemen”.
A year later, the group strengthened its position with the album “Ride The Lighting”. The album remains one of the band’s greatest achievements with the recordings of “Creeping Death”, “For Whom The Bells Tolls” and “Fade To Black”.

Another work of the band saw the light of day in 1986. The album “Master Of Puppets” is considered to be the group’s greatest achievement and one of the most important albums in the history of metal. The album was a success and to this day appears at the top of many charts summarizing the greatest works of metal music. From this release come such songs as “Battery”, “Master Of Puppets” or “Welcom Home (Sanitarium)”.

The album was supported by a huge concert tour – Damage Inc. A tour that brought a great tragedy. On September 27, 1986 in Sweden, while traveling to the next concert venue, the bus carrying the band had an accident. Ulrich, Hammett and Hetfield survived the accident unscathed, but Cliff Burton was killed. However, the team decided that it would be a colleague’s wish to continue their activities.

The result of auditioning many bassists was the involvement of Jason Newsted. After completing the tour, the band released an EP: “The $ 5.98 E.P .: Garage Days Re-Revisited” with covers of recordings, incl. Diamond Head or Budgie. 1988 brought the first studio album with a new bassist – “… And Justice for All”. The album was a real commercial success, gaining platinum status after only nine weeks. Together with the release of the album, the band also prepared the first music video for the single composition “One” in their career. Thanks to frequent broadcasts on MTV, he helped gain a group of new fans.

However, the biggest explosion in popularity took place with the premiere of the next album. A release called “Metallica” or “The Black Album” came out in 1991. It included the band’s most popular hits: “Enter Sandman”, “The Unforgiven” or “Nothing Else Matters”, and the album has sold over 15 million copies in the United States alone. Thanks to this album, the band was not only a metal music giant, but also one of the world’s greatest rock stars.
