THE EAGLES – LOVE WILL KEEP US ALIVE

The Eagles

The Eagles is an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1971. The band consisted of Glenn Frey (vocals, guitar), Don Henley (vocals, drums), Bernie Leadon (guitar, vocals), and Randy Meisner (bass, vocals). They released their debut album “Eagles” in 1972, which included hit singles such as “Take It Easy” and “Witchy Woman”.

Their follow-up album “Desperado” was released in 1973 and was a concept album based on the outlaws of the old west. The album received critical acclaim but was not a commercial success. However, their third album “On the Border” released in 1974, featured hit singles such as “Already Gone” and “James Dean” and marked a turning point for the band.

Their fourth album “One of These Nights” was released in 1975 and featured the hit single “Lyin’ Eyes” and “Take It to the Limit” and reached number one on the Billboard 200 chart. The album established the band as one of the biggest acts in the country rock genre.

Their fifth album “Hotel California” was released in 1976 and was an instant commercial success, featuring hit singles such as “Hotel California” and “New Kid in Town”. The album sold over 16 million copies in the United States alone and won the band two Grammy Awards.

The band went on hiatus in 1980 but re-formed in 1994 for a successful reunion tour. The band has since gone through several lineup changes, with Frey passing away in 2016. Despite this, the band continues to tour and perform to this day, with the remaining members, including Henley and Joe Walsh, playing the band’s classic hits.

The song “Love Will Keep Us Alive” by the Eagles is about the power of love to sustain a relationship and keep it strong, even during difficult times. The lyrics express the idea that love is the one thing that can keep two people together, even when everything else seems to be falling apart. The song encourages listeners to hold on to their love and believe in its ability to keep them alive.
